However, Steam doesn’t provide any information on how to find your Steam ID (it’s not the same as your username or profile name), so we’ll show you a bunch of ways to do that, and how you can change it to something more personal that you can’t. is forgotten.

method 1: Get Steam ID by viewing the link

In order to keep things looking clean, Steam does not display the URL for every page you visit. However, the link address reveals your Steam ID when you go to your profile page, which we’re looking for.

One option is to log into Steam through a web browser, go to your profile, and write down the number.

Alternatively, you can enable link viewing in the desktop application. To do this, click on “Steam -> Settings -> Interface,” then check the box that says “Show Steam link address bar when available.”

You’ll see the URL for your profile page near the top of the page. The Steam ID is the number (or the name if you changed it manually at some point) at the end of the link address, so it will look something like:

https://steamcommunity.com/id/884670275836126

A Steam ID is a unique 17-digit ID. It separates your Steam account from all other accounts, which means that it is more important than your username as you are not allowed to change it. Furthermore, your Steam ID is not visible to others other than you and Valve, well, unless people use Steam ID Finder by going here.

How do I find My Steam ID?

Games on Steam also have IDs, but most people don’t even notice. The question is, how do we find the game ID? So, how do we find it? Well, you can easily open Steam on the web. Find the game, then tap on it to visit its official page.

Look at the URL and you will see the ID number after the word, the app directly. For example, the URL for Forza Horizon 5 is:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1551360/Forza_Horizon_5/

The numbers in bold represent the ID.

Why is your Steam ID important?

In most cases, you will not need to use your Steam ID. In fact, the majority of Steam users will never use it and probably never think to find it. However, we know that if you want to connect third-party services to your Steam account, you must bring your Steam ID to the fore.

How to change your Steam ID

Most of the time you should be able to use your Steam ID with all the third party sites that you might want to associate your account with, but for some reason, sometimes these sites don’t want you to use your long Steam ID number and therefore you won’t be able to complete the connection as expected. In that case (or if you just want to make your Steam ID more visible), it’s a good idea to change your Steam ID.

How to change your Steam ID

To do this, on your Steam profile page, click on “Edit Profile.” You will see some options at the bottom of the new page in the “Custom link” box. Here you will see your Steam ID and there is an option to change it to any name you want. When done, scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.
